How machine cross stitch designs provided.
Each machine cross stitch design provided in package includes: Machine Embroidery Files (the sewing files) in three-sizes - 14, 16 and 18 counts; and Designs Information page in PDF, GIF or JPG format. View the picture below. You don't need to use any additional software to view or to print pages in GIF or JPG, but for PDF file usage you need Adobe Acrobat Reader, these software is available for free download.

The Designs Information page includes all needed information about the design like: designs image of sewed embroidery; designs information - the name, colors number used in design, number of stitches, designs size; thread change list. The design size shown in stitches and in 3 dimensions - counts in inches and millimeters. The thread change table represents colors palette of the design, so you don't have to use the exactly color if you don't have it, you can experiment with similar or different colors. Consumption of each thread / color shown in GIF or JPG files only. Color conversion chart of most popular palettes (Madeira Rayon, Robison-Anton Rayon, Sulky) included in thread change order table.

Designs will display differently on various embroidery machines and embroidery software, because each machine and embroidery software has it`s own color palette. The Design Information file viewed on screen or printed will show you the exactly colors you should to use, it also will help you if you would like to change the colors of design. You should follow the thread change list carefully, no matter what colors are displayed on the screen. Always mark the colors that are already sewed, this way you will always be sure what color should be next.
Some designs consists of two or more files - A, B etc... For number of the machine formats (HUS, XXX, JEF, SEW) some designs are split to two or more parts (A, B, etc..) so that they would fit all the machines using this format (there are some machines with memory limitations for number of stitches/colors).
You should load all of the files for that design into the software that transfers designs to your machine. Write them all together on the same memory card or floppy and load all files labeled "A", "B" etc.. to your machine. Load part A and stitch it following the Thread Change List until your machine indicates that it has finished stitching, exactly as you would do in regular designs, marking the colors that are already stitched. If there are still unstitched colors in the color list but the machine stopped, it's time to load the next design part (B), etc..
All machine embroidery designs on aHey-embroidery site provided zipped, and should be unzipped before use as shown at 'Unzipping Machine Embroidery Designs'. If you use windows platform you don't need any additional software to unzipping designs, but sometimes it's better to use WinZip or WinRar utility.
Good Luck, and have a wonderful day!
